The Village of North Curry, Somerset

North Curry square We are situated in the heart of the charming village of North Curry which perches on a ridge of hills surrounded by the hauntingly beautiful Somerset levels.

It is an area rich in history and stunning countryside. You can walk for miles often not seeing another soul, just herons, swans and marsh birds and acres of softly coloured willow.

Sunset through the willows In the early spring it's not unusual to see the fields white with thousands of swans that come to the wetlands to mate.

With the crazy shapes of ancient willow trees and the amazing sunsets it's an artists paradise and North Curry certainly has its fair share of talent.

North Curry has a lot to offer the visitor. There is a willow centre nearby that has pre-arranged guided tours, tearooms and masses of willow creations for sale. Information regarding the many and varied local attractions can be found on the UK Villages website.

North Curry church North Curry itself is a pretty village that boasts an excellent pub, serving an extensive menu of gourmet food and a range of good quality wines.

There is also a well-stocked shop and post office to be found in the village square.

The village church of St. Peter & St. Paul is known as "The Cathedral of the Moor" and aptly so as it is magnificent structure and has spectacular views from the north west side across the levels. The church is open for viewing most days and is well worth a visit. For those wishing to attend services please ask when booking your stay.
